Dementia

Dementia pugilistica is caused by receiving numerous blows to the head. Posttraumatic dementia is the result of a severe traumatic brain injury and usually results in long term memory problems.
Parkinson’s Disease
Traumatic brain injuries can even result in the later development of motor problems, including Parkinson’s disease. This disease may reveal itself years after suffering a head injury usually as the result of damage to the basal ganglia. Victims of Parkinson’s disease may experience tremors, slow movement, stiffness and an inability to move.
