23-Year-Old Pedal cyclist Injured in Summit, Ohio, Crash

A morning crash in Fairlawn, Summit, Ohio, occurred and resulted in injuries for a 23 year old pedal cyclist, William G. Volchko of Kent, Ohio, who was riding his bicycle, west on W. Market Street in the curb lane. Fairlawn Police Department reported that on April 21, 2013 at approximately 7:16 am, the man was in front of 3737 Curb Lane, when he was allegedly struck from his bicycle by a 2002 Chevy SUV that was being driven by a 30 year old man, east on W. Market Street, when he turned north into 3737 and failed to yield the right of way. The bicycle struck the passenger side on the front fender of the SUV and the rider was ejected. He struck the windshield and rested on the passenger side of the SUV. Bath Fire Department transported him to AGMC Montrose, while the other man was charged.
