Akron, Ohio motorcycle accidents on the rise

According to the Department of Public Safety, fatal motorcycle crashes in Ohio are increasing.
 
Eighty-eight motorcyclists have been killed in 2010. This time last year, there were only 82 motorcyclist deaths.
Motorcycle fatalities increased nearly 35 percent between 2006 and 2008. Although there was a drop in motorcycle deaths in 2009, there has been a seven percent increase this year. However, these numbers are preliminary.
 
In 2009, there was a total of 163 motorcycle crash deaths in Ohio. In 2008, 213 motorcyclists died in Ohio motorcycle wrecks.
