Three emergency squads were dispatched to Ohio route 747 and Mulhauser Road in West Chester Township for an early evening two-vehicle crash that sent four people to area hospitals with non-life threatening injuries.

A 24 year old man from Cincinnati, was cited with failure to yield a right of way, said a West Chester Township Sergeant. The car that was hit, driven by a woman from Hamilton, caught fire after the impact. Witnesses assisted with getting the driver and her passengers out of the burning car.

In 2008 there were 12,292 injury causing accidents that involved a car that failed to yield according to the Ohio Department of Public Safety. West Chester Township had a total of 1,840 accidents in 2008, of those 453 caused injury and 1,365 caused property damage only. Butler County had a total of 9,146 accidents, 2,323 caused injuries and 6,585 caused property damage only. The state of Ohio had a total of 715 vehicles that were involved in an accident that caused a fire, of those 121 resulted in injuries.
