Carroll County Ohio Auto Accident Attorney | Man killed in Mechanicstown one-car crash, drunk driving suspected

On January 26, 2011 around 2:55 AM, a Honda Accord went off the right side of State Route 39 and struck an embankment. The driver was a 32-year-old man from Mechanicstown. According to the Ohio Highway Patrol, the car struck the embankment and overturned, ejecting the driver. The reports state that the man was not wearing a seatbelt. Officers say that the road surface was damp, but the conditions allegedly would not have caused the accident. The crash remains under investigation, but alcohol and speed are supposedly suspected factors in the accident. The 32-year-old Carroll County man was killed due to injuries sustained from the accident. This was the first fatality of the year due to an accident in Carroll County, according to officers.

If alcohol was involved in the above accident, it would illustrate the dangers of driving while under the influence of alcohol. In Carroll County there were 483 accidents. 328 of those had property damage, 146 resulted in injuries, and 2 were fatal.
