On May 5, 2010, a group of motorcyclists were riding on the I-270 ramp from southbound Route 315 when one of the motorcycles veered off of the road just before midnight. The driver was a 70-year-old Grove City man. None of the other motorcyclists saw the accident, so the cause of the accident is unknown. After the crash the driver was taken to Ohio State University Medical Center for treatment. The Franklin County man was pronounced dead on Monday January 24, 2011 at his home due to injuries from the accident. 
 
In 2009, there were a total of 4,278 accidents involving motorcycles; 3,638 had accident related injuries, and 161 resulted in death. In Grove City, there were 501 total accidents; 79 had property damage, 119 had accident-related injuries, and no fatalities were reported.
