A Chrysler carrying four people from Crown City, OH was traveling westbound on State Route 588 in the township of Green in Gallia County. The 48-year old driver of the Chrysler reduced the speed of the car as he approached a curve. A Pontiac Grand Am containing a 32-year old female driver and an 11-year old boy was also traveling west on State Route 588. The driver of the Pontiac allegedly didn't notice the car in front slowing and was unable to stop in time. The Pontiac allegedly struck the Chrysler in the rear causing substantial damage to both vehicles. Everyone suffered minor injuries.

The city of Green (population 5,514) in Gallia County Ohio had 133 total crashes last year. None of these crashes resulted in the loss of life, but injuries occurred in 46 of them.
