Granger Township had no fatalities and only 48 crashes resulting in injuries in 2008. Medina County had 21 fatalities and 943 crashes resulting in injuries. The Ohio Department of Public Safety states that 131 teens between the ages of 16-20 were killed in 2008. 81 of those deaths were the drivers of the vehicles. This is the second highest range of deaths with 21-25 years old coming in first with a total of 96 driver deaths. A fatal accident in April took the life of two teenage children when a teenage girl pulled out of her driveway. She failed to yield and pulled out in front of another Granger Township teen going 60 mph. He hit the car resulting in the death of the driver and her passenger. The Medina County prosecutor's office is still reviewing the report.
