A 78-year old Lodi, OH man died after an accident that took place on single-lane roadway in a Harrisville construction site. According to police reports, the man was driving his 2000 Pontiac MTA southward on US 41 when he disobeyed a work zone traffic device and struck a concrete barrier. The man's minivan then deflected off the barrier and into path of a large dump truck that was traveling northward. he driver of the truck, a 58-year old man who was also from Lodi, swerved to the left and struck a concrete wall in an attempt to avoid the accident. The Pontiac drove underneath the large truck, crushing the minivan and trapping the elderly man inside. The man was extracted from the minivan and flown by Med-Flight to a Medina County area hospital where he was pronounced dead.
