An SUV and school bus collided at the corner of SR 725 and Miller Farm Lane September 1. According to the reports, the SUV flipped onto its top after it crashed into the school bus. The driver did not stop at a traffic light. The driver of the SUV suffered a few minor injuries.
 
Montgomery County, Ohio (population 559,062) had a total of 12,747 accidents in 2008, with 36 of them being fatal (39 total fatalities). 3,507 of the total crashes were injury crashes, with a total of 5,246 injuries. Washington Township, Ohio (population 52,991) had a total of 508 accidents in 2008, with 4 of them being fatal (4 total fatalities). When two heavy objects, like a SUV and bus collide, the forces unleashed on the occupants are tremendous. As you know from highschool physics class, force of impact equals mass of the object times its change in velocity or speed. It does not take much speed to create large forces when the masses of the objects are large. However, modern safety features such as crumble zones, and airbags help reduce injuries.
