An accident that seriously injured three teenage girls shut down Interstate 70 earlier in the week. According to the Ohio State Highway Patrol, one passenger was ejected from the vehicle. She was not wearing a seat belt. Witnesses say the car flipped across the median of the highway, debris flying everywhere. Careflight airlifted two of the girls to Miami Valley Hospital. Research is being done to see if the driver broke the law (16 or younger, only one non-family passenger in vehicle).

In general, young drivers cause a significant number of accidents on Ohio roads each year.
