A 1996 Mazda pickup was headed west on Federal Highway 50 while a 2003 Chevy Malibu full-size car was making a left turn from Rapid Forge Road onto the highway and allegedly pulled into the path of the Mazda pickup. The Mazda pickup allegedly struck the Chevy Malibu causing it to overturn. The 28 year old male driver of the Mazda pickup sustained injuries and was transported by EMS, while the 68 year old female driver of the Chevy Malibu was pronounced dead at the scene.
