An 18 year old youth was transported by EMS to the hospital as a result of an accident which occurred in Big Spring Ohio on December 25, 2011 at approximately 10:41 pm. Police reported that a 1994 Chevy Silverado pickup was being driven by the youth, south on Township Route 93, when the vehicle went off the left side of the roadway. The vehicle was then driven back on the roadway where the driver allegedly lost control, travelled off the left side again and overturned.

Big Spring Ohio whose population in 2010 was 1,791 suffered a total of 12 injury crashes which resulted in 18 persons being injured.
