A 40-year-old Marysville woman was pronounced dead following an auto accident August 26. According to Marysville police, the woman was traveling east on Route 33 when she veered off the left side of the road and struck an overpass support. She was ejected from the vehicle. After being transported to Memorial Hospital of Union County, she was pronounced dead.  
 
Ejection accidents are especially serious and often lead to fatalities. The relative safety of the vehicle is lost when you suffer from both the impact of going through the glass and also the impact of hitting the ground at high speed. The acceleration created on the body by ejection from a vehicle creates tremendous force on the physical body, with catastrophic injuries and death possible.
