Although children may have the same symptoms of traumatic brain injury in an adult, they are not able to communicate that they have a headache, feel nauseous, are confused or are experiencing blurred vision and other sensory problems. Signs of Traumatic Brain Injury in Children

• Change in nursing or eating habits
• Persistent crying
• Unusual or easy irritability
• Change in ability to pay attention
• Inability to be consoled
• Change in sleep habits
• Sad or depressed mood
• Loss of interest in favorite toys or activities
• Vomiting
• Slurred speech
• Loss of previously acquired skills
• Any loss of consciousness
