Driver Crashes Into Cleveland Bus Stop, Injures Two

A man who drove his truck through a Cleveland RTA bus stop is now in jail.
Daniel Wheeler allegedly hopped the curb, crashed into a pole and then drove his Ford Ranger pick-up truck through an RTA bus stop near West 73rd Street and Lorain Avenue, just before 3 a.m. on the morning of Monday, September 13. He ran over two people who were waiting at the stop. The 27-year-old driver then left the scene.
The two pedestrians who were struck in the Cleveland car crash were taken to MetroHealth Medical Center. Their injuries do not appear to be life-threatening.
Surveillance cameras at a nearby gas station caught the accident on tape and the driver was found hiding in some nearby buses. Wheeler was taken to MetroHealth Medical Center to be treated for his injuries. He was arrested and charged with aggravated vehicular assault.
Wheeler is being held on $50,000 bond.
