Worker Dies In Butler County Construction Site Accident

A Butler County, Ohio construction worker was killed in a workplace truck accident when a dump truck backed over him Friday night.
 
The Ohio truck accident occurred around 10:00 p.m. on Friday, September 24. The victim, 38-year-old Terry Garrison of West Union, Ohio, was working on a Fairfield Township road construction site on Ohio 4 about 150 feet north of Hamilton-Mason Road .  He died at the scene after being fatally injured when he was run over by a dump truck loaded with fresh asphalt 
 
The truck was driven by 52-year-old Timothy Tomlin of Hammersville, Ohio.  Tomlin was also working at the same construction site.  Tomlin told police officers that he did not see Garrison, who was standing behind the truck, when he backed up through the construction zone and hit him.
 
The Butler County coroner conducted an autopsy on Garrison's body on Saturday morning.  The federal  
 
Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) is investigating the Ohio workplace accident.
